It has been a quiet month. I got to ski for the first time in 2 years. I skied two days in Breckenridge and had a nice time. Elena and Vero are doing great. Veronica has started to write her name and she is learning a lot these days. She has good letter recognition and she knows most of the sounds letters make too. She has become consumed with the idea of homework. When we get home in the evenings she insists on doing her homework. Elena likes to pretend she is her teacher. Their grandma got them a couple of white boards for Christmas and Elena likes to think they are her chalk boards for teaching. She has slowly become more sensitive. When something happens that upsets her she says “you hurt my feelings”. These days everything that doesn’t go her way hurts her feelings. Duke was put in jail once again. He escaped the yard and was found by the police in the middle of the street. He came home traumatized and possibly had a bad jail experience. Elena is doing good and got really good marks on her report card. Albuquerque has gotten an unusually large amount of snow this year. It looks like it might be a green spring which means good hiking and fishing. I hope to get a little more camping and backpacking in this spring and summer. Stay tuned!
